Hope Mills Retirement Center (HMRC) is a family owned assisted living center for senior adults. Pat Piner established HMRC in 1988. Fifteen years prior she operated Hope Mills Rest Home. We provide an alternative for seniors who need more assistance in their lives but do not require the full time medical attention associated with costly skilled nursing centers or continuous home care. We provide housing and services when it is no longer safe or practical for a senior adult to live alone in their home. HMRC offers individualized care based on what the doctor has determined is needed, what the senior adult wants and what the family requests. This includes help with bathing, dressing and medication management; as well as, providing three meals a day, providing snacks throughout the day and having weekly recreational activities. HMRC does not have Alzheimers residents or locked units. tst

Our family has been in the adult care home industry for over 40 years. It all began when our mother and grandmother purchased two adult care homes in Hope Mills, NC. Our mother and grandmother operated these homes until the late 1980s. At that time our mother built a brand new facility of her own. In 1988 she opened Hope Mills Retirement Center . HMRC continues to operate based on the high standards and superior care that our family established so many years ago. Today, even though our mother loved this business for so many years, she is retired from the business. Donna and Doug, her children, manage the business to ensure HMRC continues to provide the highest standards in adult care. Our Certified Nursing Assistants, which provide such great care for the residents, have been with HMRC for an average of over 10 years. We know our staff is the most dedicated you will find in this industry. Our staff is what makes our home so special. Everyone is family when they are in our home.

HMRC started as a family business and continues as a family business today. Our family includes all of our employees and residents' families.
Our manager, Tonia, was a local business lady and decided to join us in 2016.
Our daytime supervisor and medication administrator has been with us for 22 years. Her daughter, who has been a nursing assistant with us for 16 years, and son-in-law actually work with us as well.
One of our night time supervisors and medication administrators has been with us 19 years. Her granddaughter works with us as a nursing assistant. The other three nursing assistants have been with us for a total of 37 years. Each one of them works the same hall for the shifts they work. This allows them to really get to know their residents and the residents really get to know them. The residents like the familiar faces they see each day.
Our laundry specialist has been with us for 13 years. She also takes care of minor repairs around the building and makes sure our building stays sparkling clean. The remaining staff also keeps our facility running in a smooth manner. They may not have been with us as long but they are also a great part of our family.
Our professional family includes a Registered Nurse that reviews our services quarterly. Both parents of our nurse were also a resident at our center. She continues to be a part of our family.
The pharmacist that reviews our medicines has been a party of our family for 30 years. When the time came he placed his mother in our center when she could no longer stay at home.
